Kevin Su (b. 2000) is a composer, pianist, and reformed computer scientist based in Brooklyn, New York. He is currently pursuing a PhD in music composition at the CUNY Graduate Center, where he is studying with David Fulmer.

Growing up, Kevin studied piano with Marjorie Lee and composition with Judah Adashi. More recently, he graduated from Stanford University, where he obtained a master’s degree in computer science, and a bachelor’s in computer science with a minor in music composition. At Stanford, he primarily studied with Francois Rose. He also studied composition and took classes with Hans Kretz and Mark Applebaum, among others.

Reflecting his eclectic background, Kevin’s interests lie in exploring the relationships between music, aesthetics, technology, and politics. In another life, he might have pursued a career in computer science, specifically studying the intersection of complexity theory and algorithmic fairness. In his free time, Kevin likes to read, make coffee/tea, and cook.
